Pet puppies:
Pet puppies are just that, pets.  All pets should be spayed or neutered.  If you are looking for a dog to breed or show: you are not looking for a pet puppy.
We require that pet puppies be altered no latter then 14 months of age.  Our current recommendation is to have them altered no sooner then 9 months of age.  Altering time is between you and you veterinarian but we believe they develop to their potential better when not altered prior to 9 months.  There are also studies that are showing an increase in certain cancers then dogs are altered prior to puberty.  Though this is not a completed study as of yet we do think it is a consideration.  Please discuss this and other concerns with your vet.

How do we choose our breedings?
We have researched the lines we breed extensively.    We breed with the AKC conformation description in mind but also to our own personal preferences.
Shawnee is an example of our blue line and what we strive for with every breeding. Niki ( Harlequin) and Tux (Mantle) are  an example of where out Harl breedings are currently.

Some of the traits we have taken in to consideration :  Longevity, Health Testing, conformation, personality and color.
Over the years we have spent considerable effort in identifying traits and characteristics produced by our breedings.
We have utilized OFA and PENNHIP to maintain correct hip conformation, we have also screened for Eye, Thyroid and Heart Defects.
It is our policy that owners keep in contact with us for the life of there dog.  This is to ensure we can follow every breeding and make better decisions in breeding.

We use Pedigree analysis and other considerations prior to planning any breeding.  We often know possible breedings YEARS in advance.

We do fly puppies if the weather permits.
This is $400.  The flight it self is between $230-265 and is dependent on the weight of your pet.  Crates run $45-65 and again--size of pet determines size of crate.  Mandatory health papers and certificate usually runs us $65.   This includes a fecal test.   It is a 90 minute run ( both ways) to the airport for us but we can fly out of Austin (Bergstrom) or Houston (Bush) most days of the week.
You are more then welcome to arrange alternative methods of transportation including ground delivery and of course we are happy to have you pick up here at our home.
